University of Szeged Congress Centre

Congress Centre is the premier location for conventions, meetings and large-scale events with its 1000 m2 banquet area where the capacity can take up to 1,300 persons at the same time. In 2009 they won the "The Green Office Improvement of the year" Prize of KÖVET Association for Sustainable Economies.

As the winner of this prize they wanted to add to their green value so Co2ntra tracked and calculated the emission of the whole Congress Center. Based on their inputs, the monthly electricity and gas usage, we provided a summary of their monthly emissions and options to reduce and offset.  

How Co2ntra helped?

• We produced them CO2 event calculator and in partnership with the Congress Centre we were able to offer individual event organizers the opportunity to offset their events emissions.
• The Congress Centre was ble to offset the emissions generated by those participating in events such as the Business Travel Show. This event included participants, travels and accommodation emissions.
